CAD for Beginners is a course intended for beginners, both students and adults (age 11 and up) to learn how to use CAD. CAD has a limitless number of applications such as creating the files needed for producing an object on a 3D Printer, Laser Cutter, Vinyl Cutter, or CNC. Course content is basic beginner level information to orient you on CAD. The instructor will step through an introductory ‘how to’ get started using Autodesk Fusion 360, a powerful industry-leading product that is free for students/hobbyists. You can then try at home at your own pace. You will also see a demonstration of using CAD output to create objects on a 3D Printer.

There are no prerequisites for this class - it is designed for beginners.

Bring your maker spirit, curiosity on CAD and willingness to learn.

A computer is not required, but the class is best learned through the use of one. Nova Labs has a limited number of computers for use.

The class is scheduled for two hours of instruction and one hour of experimentation and. The instructor will stick around for another hour for anyone interested in starting with Fusion 360 CAD disc
overy on their own computer. It only takes a few minutes to get the free edition user account setup and working.
