Backabush is very proud to be sponsor of another great outdoor activity Meetup group and we invite you to get involved.

Would you like to join the Volunteer Team of THE OUTDOOR ADVENTURE CLUB?

The OAC is a registered and government regulated Social Enterprise but we receive no outside funding or other assistance so we depend on volunteers to get involved and keep our group running.

Currently we are seeking:

• Hike leaders

• First aiders

• Minibus drivers

• Social event organisers

We can offer our volunteer team a number of benefits:

 
The OAC is a fully legal and accountable Social Enterprise. As a team member you can rest assured that our activities are appropriately regulated as legally required. Our accounts are public and we submit annual returns to HMRC. This is very important because any group which collects money is breaking the law if they are not registered, accountable and paying taxes.

The OAC is fully insured. In the unlikely event of someone instigating a legal action for personal injury against an event organiser our insurance company will immediately provide all legal representation and pay any damages. The law in this country makes it very unlikely that someone could win a claim but it is good to know that we are covered whatever happens.

The OAC can help you with training. All event organisers should have first aid qualifications and navigation training as the most basic requirements. We can not only help you to obtain this but can also help with ongoing development of your outdoor experience and skills.

The OAC will make sure that you are properly equipped. We can supply maps, compasses, walking guide books, first aid kits etc, etc.

The OAC can cover relevant expenses. We can make sure that your transport costs are covered, pay for ongoing training, sort out your event fees or camping costs etc, etc. Plus you need not worry about accountancy fees, insurance costs or other group admin expenses.

The OAC is a lot of fun! Becoming involved as a team member and organising outdoor activities can open up a whole new world of social possibilities. The personal satisfaction which comes from providing our community with worthwhile and uplifting activities is priceless!
