We are a group of educators who have a desire to integrate coding into the classroom, and less formal venues, through a variety of platforms that will spark creativity to students of all ages and interests. No experience of computer programming is necessary!!
Sessions are participant driven and provide an informal opportunity to network with other educators who either have a desire to learn how to bring this exciting field into their learning environment, or enjoy sharing and developing their curriculum with others. While participants will encounter the well-established world of Scratch coding, meetings usually have hands-on activities to try out, including, but not limited to, robots, MakeyMakey, MicroBit and other creative coding systems. This is a great time to inspire and be inspired!
What should I bring? Curiosity. And a laptop that supports Flash will be helpful for the hands-on activities. If you're new to Scratch, you can check it out at http://scratch.mit.ed... We look forward to meeting up with you!
