Hi CAT Members
We’ll resume our “mini demo” approach at TNT. This week we’ll demonstrate hand thread chasing, both internal and external. I’ll go over thread chasing during each session. You will also have opportunity to practice.
Also this week we’ll have two discussions about buying lathes, both used and new. Things to look for and things to stay away from….
Where: Blue Ridge Turnery, 16629 Evening Star, Round Hill, VA 20141 Park on street. Shop in basement.
When: Thursday, Dec 7th 2-5 pm and 6-9 pm with a dinner break 5-6 pm. Anthony's Restaurant in Purcellville
Cost: No set fees. Expenses are met by contributions to the coffee can which is by the sign in sheet. Donate as you see value. Please don’t forget the coffee can.
Bring: Eye protection for sure, Dust mask recommended. Tools if you have them. We have student tools if you don’t. If you have a chuck you like to use, bring it. It will be helpful, especially if you need to take a project home unfinished.
Safety: First timers ... Read and sign the Shop Rules and file in the binder. Thereafter just use the sign in sheet. Our expenses have gone up, keeping more equipment running and safe. Please be generous at the Coffee Can.
RSVP’s are helpful, letting us know which sessions and what you would like to do….
Looking forward to seeing you Thursday
